I work as a software engineer for a software vendor. In my free time I research AI, contribute to open source projects, and run my own first one, which I manage and write code for myself. It is how I learn what it takes to open source a project and to grow a developer community around it. What drives me is automating things with code.
The name. C00100011 is binary for C#. The C is the letter, and 00100011 is 35, the ASCII code for #. C# is my main language, and today I can also write Python, C++, TypeScript, Kotlin, Dart and PowerShell. The short story.
AI, on a short leash. I use it for repetitive tasks and for cleaning up code. For new features it gives me a first draft, and then I keep building by hand and write down where I made which choices. In my opinion that is the ideal way to code with AI: fast, but also good. Read how.
